Son of the giant Laufey, Loki was accepted as part of the Aesir by Odin. His schemes included cutting Sif's hair; siring Fenrir, Hela and Jormungand; the birth of Sleipnir and the theft of Andvari's ring.

He was bound by the gods after causing the death of Balder.
