Byakko is the Japanese pronunciation for the White Tiger(Kanji: 白虎; Chinese pinyin: bái hǔ), which is one of the Four Symbols (mythological beasts) in Chinese astronomy. It represents Autumn and Metal, and as acts as Guardian of the West.
