Medusa

Medusa was one of the Gorgons and the only mortal one; in some accounts she was a priestess turned into a Gorgon by the gods as punishment.
She possessed a petrifying gaze and snakes for hair. She was slain by the hero Perseus and her head was incorporated into the Aegis.
